The River City Big Band is quickly gaining a reputation as the premier community jazz organization for Edmonton. Our members are all stellar, dedicated, performing musicians whose primary income may not be music, but could very well be. We're active in our daily pursuits as lawyers, social workers, educators, technologists and business people. But we'll all admit to it: our first love is music. As well, the band has founded an "Introduction to Big Band Jazz" program for young musicians which involves an evening of demonstrations and a declaration that music is really lifelong appreciation. Typically, this is performed early in the school year to encourage students to get the most out of their school's band program.   me |
